I consider myself a woman of few words. I prefer to listen and observe. That being said, when I am passionate about something, I can bend your ear for hours. One of my passions is music, as evidenced by a few of my blog posts. I am not a musician, or even very musically inclined, but I love it deeply. It can help lift my mood, give me a fresh perspective, or have a good beat to bump to. One artist whose music has had a profound impact on me is Lucky Daye. He is such a gifted songwriter, singer, performer, and let’s face it, he’s easy on the eyes.
It’s inspiring to me to see a fellow artist be so deeply immersed in their art. As he has admitted himself, many of his songs are moody, but in the best way possible. This man has felt all the feels and we, as his audience, can relate either because of experience, or simply because he’s moving us to feel what he feels. As someone who used to spend a lot of my adolescence writing poetry, his songs are beautiful prose that are captivating. The more I listen to his catalog of music, the harder it is to pinpoint a favorite. Lucky Daye is truly gifted. I appreciate how his moniker came to be as well. Those are the details I’m drawn to.
“It came from wanting to prepare myself for anything and everything. I looked up what Lucky meant and it was “when preparation meets opportunity.” I knew that was something I wanted to do every day. So I combined the two, but on paper Day didn’t look right to me, so I took inspiration from Marvin Gaye who added an “e” to the end of his name and created Lucky Daye.”
If I still haven’t convinced you to check out Lucky Daye for yourself, let’s sample one of my favorite songs, shall we?
